Wealth

So you want to be wealthy and extravagant? Well, probably not just yet you don’t, considering you can barely afford to keep yourself supplied. Give it a few more adventures, though, and you’ll be looking at honest-to-god profits (and also the townspeople are going to run out of better stuff to sell you, leaving you with nothing to spend gold on anyway).

Right now the only real wealth thing is standard-of-living and awesome houses. Hopefully better stuff will be added before too long. Once you’re raking in tax money, you should be able to buy all kinds of ridiculously pricy stuff.

Standards Of Living

Self-Sufficient: You hunt for your own food, sleep in tents, hunt all that you eat, and mend your own clothes. It costs you nothing because you live like hobos, but it’s certainly the economic option for starting adventurers.

Meager: This standard of living costs 1gp per week. You sleep mostly in cramped conditions and eat little other than what you catch. In several ways it’s a step down from tents and cooked rabbit. On the bright side it saves you a lot of time, but it’s debatable whether that’s really worth it. Most peasants in the Swamp Kingdom live at this level.

Poor: This standard of living costs 3gp per week. You sleep in inns and eat in taverns, but the lower end of both of them. Sharing a room and eating tavern slop isn’t really better than sharing a tent and eating whatever you happen to catch, but it’s not worse either, and it doesn’t take six hours a day to get it. Most peasants in the Gaellands or Britos live at this level, as well as most of the craftsmen and merchants in the Swamp Kingdom.

Common: This standard of living costs 12gp per week. Food is decent and you’re occasionally eating a hearty meal with fine wine and such. You still typically have to share a room, but it’s a nice room and decisively better than sleeping in a tent. Most craftsmen or merchants in the Gaellands or Britos live at about this level, as well as minor nobles from the Swamp Kingdom and the lower classes in the Empires Below.

Good: This standard of living costs 25gp per week. You have a room to yourself in the inn and eat well every meal of every day. Nobles and royalty of the Swamp Kingdom live at this level, as do minor nobles of the Gaellands and Britos and most middle class citizens of the Empires Below.

Extravagant: This standard of living costs 50gp per week. You eat and drink the best, the rooms you stay in are lavish, you have as much hookers and blow as you could ask for. You very literally live like a king; the kings of Britos and the Gaellands actually live this way, as well as most of the wealthier people of the Empires Below.
